On 10 January 2020, the World Health Organization released the genetic sequence of a novel virus and named it 2019-nCoV. This moment marked the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, an event that has had an unparalleled impact on people across the globe. No country was left untouched. I want to capture this pivotal day, which has forever shaped our collective memory, through a wide array of voices from around the world. To do so, I created this website, which has become a platform for over 230 photographs and stories from more than 70 countries. The website will remain open and continue to grow as more stories are shared. If you have a photo from 10 January 2020, I invite you to upload it here, along with a brief description of the story behind the image.
By sharing your image and story, you agree to allow me to use them for this website, as well as in exhibitions and publications (both in print and online).
Thank you very much.
